Initial Notes

• Verthandi has four seasons. Unlike Arcadia, only one season is active at a time.
• the zone DOES repop with people inside
• to change seasons, kill Verthandi 7X. Season will change on the next repop. Otherwise the season will stay the same forever (across restarts).
• You need 7 items to make the staff: 3 !rent, 4 Seasonal.
• Before going to the !rent components be sure to check the season. The room name at the beginning of the zone gives a hint as to what season it is.
  • A bright, Autumn Trail = Fall
  • A Snowy, Woodland Track = Winter
  • A Forest in Flower = Spring
  • A Lazy Summer Trail = Summer
• when zone repops, a rentable comp like shard will not reload
• *****IMPORTANT*****

It is most efficient to make multiple staves at once (we recommend 9 at a time)

You must kill Queen Verthandi a minimum of 16 times to make a single Staff of Seven, but only 24 times to make nine staves.

This means you should get nine seasonal comps before triggering season change

• Same strategy as killing Verthandi, except use wimpy 255 because its perma-fireshield.
• Sparking hammer is great against phoenix.
• The egg does not load every time, but you can scry phoenix to see if it loaded.
• You should kill a no-load Phoenix, as it may repop with egg.

Verthandi

To get to Verthandi:

Go to Phoenix, 3d 2e d.

Notes for killing Verthandi solo:

• it is possible to flee north, west, or south from Verthandi.
• the only entrance back to Verthand is from the north. If you flee west or south, follow the path north, then east until you're at the north flee room.
• trap and clear each of the 3 fleeable rooms
• keep corner 2 north of verthandi trapped
• watch for rats on flee, have autosneak on
• avoid ghosts, as they are very difficult
• set wimpy 150
• Verthandi stabs fast, so always run in and init magic missile for images or use colour spray
• dispel, plague, blind, poison

Making Staff

After you kill Verthandi, be sure you have all 7 comps in inventory, and sleep. Staff is created when you wake in 3 minutes.

• Make sure you're not formed when you sleep to make the staff.
• You can only make 1 staff at a time, with 7x comps in your inventory, but you can repeat this step.
